Addressing common eye concerns, such as elasticity, loss of volume, puffiness and crow’s feet the Smooth Eye Laser Treatment is one of the most effective non-invasive procedures on the market for those wishing to improve their current appearance without enlisting the help of a surgeon.

Offered in our Temecula clinic and administered by Dr. Tumbaga, the Smooth Eye Laser Treatment focuses on the periocular region and significantly tightens loose and ageing skin with little or no downtime (depending on the individual skin type).

Smooth Eye Laser Treatment treats the skin in a non-abrasive manner and is administered after a topical anaesthetic. The experience has been described by clients as feeling like a gentle flicking of the skin, or warm ants walking across their skin. For those sensitive to heat, a cool Zimmer compress can be applied to aid skin calming.

Throughout the treatment energy is delivered in a unique sub-second long pulse sequence: this achieves homogeneous heating without heat build-up and within several hundred micrometres of the skin surface. This gentle heating stimulates collagen production and remodelling and stimulates neo-collagenesis – the re-awakening of cells that produce new collagen. A treatment plan of Smooth Eye Laser Treatment results in overall improvement of wrinkles, laxity and elasticity in the treatment areas around the eyes.

Smooth Eye Laser Treatment is offered as both a standalone treatment or can be combined with any laser or injectable procedure. In general, there is little or no downtime for most patients, but occasionally clients can experience mild swelling, dryness and slight redness, all which can be covered with a gentle mineral makeup. We recommend allowing at least three to five days before any event, 10 days if you choose to add an additional smoothing cycle. This additional cycle can assist in resurfacing and is particularly beneficial for male clients.

SMOOTH-EYE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Will it hurt?

There can be slight discomfort for some patients, a topical anaesthetic and a cold Zimmer compress are applied to help combat this.

2. Can I go out on the same night?

Some patients experience an initial tightening and look very fresh on their first night. It is usually on day three that the skin becomes dry or may swell slightly.

3. Will I peel?

You can, which is a good thing, skin peeling means that the body is exfoliating the top skin layers and the rejuvenation process has begun.

4. Will my partner notice?

It depends if they gaze lovingly into your eyes or not! In general, partners don’t notice any of our procedures initially, you may look like you have been crying a little bit.

5. Will it swell?

Some people have slight swelling, this is a positive thing as it means that collagen stimulation has started.

6. How many treatments will I require?

We recommend three treatments for best results

7. Is it permanent?

Yes, some clients may require a top-up as they age.

8. What do I need to do after my treatment?

It is important to wear sunglasses and avoid sun exposure, reapply sunblock regularly as your skin will be photosensitive. It is important to incorporate a good cosmeceutical eye cream such as SenteI lllumine Eye Cream into your daily skincare practice. We advise that you avoid active products such as retinol, vitamin A and vitamin C for 7-10 days after treatment.

9. Will it affect my contact lenses?

It is advisable to remove lenses prior to treatment.

10. Can you do it inside the eye too?

Yes, the inner lower eye can be treated by Dr Tumbaga, this is particularly effective for patients with problematic puffiness.

11. Can I have a more intensive treatment?

Yes, depending on the individual and their requirements we can incorporate an additional ablative peel.
